      <title>PROFILE - WHO I AM</title>

      <description>&lt;h2 class=" C9DxTc CjVfdc zfr3Q JYVBee CDt4Ke" style="font-size: 13.5pt;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Rooted in Nature: My Path to International Cooperation&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;&lt;p style="font-size: 83%;"&gt;I was born and raised in the Osumi region of Kagoshima Prefecture, where my family has lived for generations, surrounded by a rich natural landscape. My childhood was spent in a multigenerational household, where daily life was deeply connected to nature. Our meals were made with vegetables from the family garden, and I spent much of my time exploring the hills behind our home. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-size: 83%;"&gt;However, a major turning point came when I was 12 years old. I lost my mother to a sudden illness, and within the following three years, my grandparents and father also passed away due to health conditions.  &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-size: 83%;"&gt;When I entered high school, my older sister, who had excelled academically and had the potential to attend a prestigious national university, made the difficult decision to forgo higher education. Instead, she took a job in local government to support our family. Thanks to her sacrifice—as well as financial aid programs, merit-based scholarships, and part-time work opportunities—I was able to continue my education through university and graduate school.  &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p style="font-size: 83%;"&gt;Through these experiences, I came to understand firsthand how illness or unexpected events can suddenly place anyone in a vulnerable position.
